MARCH EXHIBITION

MAX DAWN GALLERY 47 PHILLIPS ST, THEBARTON

The March exhibition features artists Robert Bader (NSW) Painting, Ruben Bermudez (Spain) Photography, Karen Paris (SA) Photography and Sam Evans (SA) Illustration.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCIENCE

ART GALLERY OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA NORTH TCE

Before And After Science lands at the Art Gallery as part of the Adelaide Festival Of Arts and with it brings 22 of Australia’s most innovative and exciting contemporary artists. Here, they present installation and sculpture using traditional and non-traditional materials which feature strongly alongside collage, film and painting; most wrapped around the concepts of alchemy and transformation.

TRAFFIC

GALLERY 139, 139 MAGILL ROAD, STEPNEY

With a fascination for advertising material, a heap of artistic flair and a healthy interest in affichistes (torn poster art), Ian McFarland presents new mixed media reflecting the ebb and flow of traffic in the big smoke. Think ripped patterns, sun faded colours, residual brush strokes of application and the imprinted pattern of brick and corrugated iron.

PRETENDING THINGS ARE A COCK

URBAN COW STUDIO 11 FROME ST, ADELAIDE

Comedic photographic exhibition Cock is an experiment in contemporary art that delves into the nature of masculinity and sex and exposes the varied societal interpretations of irony.

HEDGEMAZE

PROSPECT GALLERY 1 THOMAS ST, NAILSWORTH

This exhibition comprises a cross-section of current work from all nine members and reflects the shared time at Hedgemaze, as well as the fluid processes of studio practice; with some artworks resolved, others in progress and some being worked within the gallery over the course of the exhibition.

EXPOSED! THE STORY OF SWIMWEAR

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MARITIME MUSEUM 126 LIPSON ST, PORT ADELAIDE

Movie sirens, aquatic stars, bathing beauties, models, athletes, sporting icons, swimmers and designers all played their part in the evolution of the modern swimsuit. Blurring the boundaries between underwear and outerwear, the swimsuit continues to make shockwaves.

IT REALLY IS PERSONAL WITH THE COKERS

DRAGONFLY BAR + DINING 193 VICTORIA SQ, ADELAIDE

The Cokers are an artist family. Three out of the family of six have their work in this show. There are Jan's figurative pastel drawings favouring colour and feeling, Richard's collages mixing common cultural images with diverse colours, shapes and textures, and Kamal's pen, pencil and marker drawings.
