In what is one of Cats’ most exciting bookings yet, instrumental post-bop trio BadBadNotGood will be jetting into town this Fri Sep 20 for an OutsideIn sideshow at Rocket Bar.

Since forming in 2010 the Ontario-hailing trio, consisting of Matthew Tavares on keys, Chester Hansen on bass and Alexander Sowinski, have pricked the ears of tastemakers with their synthy, jazz-flavoured beats and re-workings of infamous hip hop tracks (you can listen to their cover of Kanye West’s Flashing Lights here).

Most recently the group were the backing band for Frank Ocean, performing with him on his 2012 US tour and at Coachella.

The band are currently in the process of working on their third studio album. You can listen to their previous release, 2012’s BBNG2, in its entirety below.
