Jay-Z Announces New Album ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’

Amid a frenzied weekend surrounding the premature release of Kanye’s latest album/baby, hip hop legend Jay-Z has reclaimed the spotlight from his Watch The Throne collaborator with the announcement of a new album due in July.
With similarly questionable deity references a la Kanye West’s Yeezus, Jay-Z’s twelfth studio album will be titled Magna Carta Holy Grail and will feature heavyweights like Pharrell Williams, OG Rick Rubin, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. The album is due for release on Jul 4.
Check out the album teaser for Magna Carta Holy Grail below, featuring Jay in the studio alongside various A-class visitors. Judging by the 1:14 mark you can expect MCHG to go in a more electronic direction, prompting us to wonder if Jay is taking cues from wife Beyonce who also has embraced dance elements in recent tracks Grown Woman and Bow Down.
An app for Magna Carta Holy Grail will be made available on Jun 24, with the album slated for global release on Jul 4.
