Hear MIA’s New Single ‘Bring The Noize’

Given the problems that have plagued the release of MIA’s fourth studio album, Matangi, the album’s first single Bring The Noize has finally been released.

Given that MIA was told by Interscope that the music she submitted was “too positive”, it appears that MIA taken the constructive criticism on board. Well, at least for Bring The Noize. The track has an angry dance undercurrent, with a hook that sounds like a robotic take to the opening of Boyz from 2007’s Kala.

We were originally supposed to hear the follow up to 2010’s Maya as far as back as the end of last year. Tentative release dates have since been and gone, including Jan 31 and Apr 15. While there isn’t any official release dates mentioned for Matangi, possibly to try and avoid disappointment, MIA said to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that if she “would’ve definitely exploded” if the album weren’t now ready to be released.

To keep your MIA fix flowing take a listen below to an eight minute Matangi preview mix that MIA created for Kenzo to use during Paris Fashion Week.
