Finally, here’s some new Janelle Monae for us to wrap our ears around – a funky anthem called Q.U.E.E.N featuring legendary R&B singer Erykah Badu.
“Q.U.E.E.N was inspired by private discussions between Erykah and me. It is meant to make you jam, dance, funk out. And dialogue later,” Monae Tweeted this morning.
Q.U.E.E.N serves as the first single off Janelle Monae’s upcoming sophomore album Electric Lady, the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2010 debut The ArchAndroid. In an interview with NME earlier this month, Monae revealed that the new album would “have very strong concepts and bigger ideas and the music will just go forward to another level.”
