As a part of his Australian tour, veteran rapper Troy Donald Jamerson, better known by his moniker Pharoahe Monch, will be launching his new album PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) at Rocket Bar this Thu Apr 18.
Monch, who has been ranked by Kool Moe Dee as the 26th best MC of all time, is renouned for his complex delivery of intellectual, intricate raps. Monch will be joined onstage by Adelaide rap duo Dialect & Despair, who recently released their new album Self Evident, as well as DJ Sanchez. More supports to be announced.
Given the smaller size of the venue, this is a prime opportunity to see one of the most influential figures in hip hop for over a decade now. His debut single Simon Says in 1999 sure sent the 90s off in style, although his latest album PTSD is sure to offer more high-energy tracks, especially considering it was slated for release in 2012 as an EP and has since been held back and expanded into a full-length album.
