Blues, Beers and Bikes: A Taste of the Deep South In the Adelaide Hills

Words by Barlow Redfearn February 26, 2016

If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience something a little different this weekend, the good folks at Prancing Pony Brewery have just the ticket.

Best known for producing some of the tastiest craft beers South Australia has to offer, Prancing Pony’s iconic Mount Barker brew shed will put the brewing on hold for day as they host a day long festival that celebrates the three glorious Bs: blues, beers and bikes.

On the blues front, Mick Kidd and David Blight will be playing a live set made up of originals and covers; on the bike front, organisers are encouraging folks to bring their bikes (motorbikes, push-bikes or otherwise); and on the beers front, well, you’ll be hanging out at one of the best brewhouses in the country so you know there’ll be plenty of top draw craft beers to wrap your taste buds around.

Inspired by the American Deep South and the late summer festivals that abound in that part of the world, this charming summer get-together will also feature a host of amazing Creole food options. So expect to taste plenty of oysters, jambalaya and southern fried chicken; after all, if there’s one things Louisianians know what to do, its keep everyone supremely well fed.

So hop on your bike, bring a mate, and head over to the Prancing Pony Brewery for a fun filled day of good ol’ Southern hospitality.
