What a year it’s been for homegrown talent, Stacey Hendrickson. We know it’s only March but this year alone, the designer has championed the release of casper&pearl’s latest collection ABRACADABRA, held her first (very successful) solo runway show and now, she’s been picked to showcase the collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia’s New Generation Show.
At just 22, Hendrickson is the youngest out of the six emerging designers that have been picked to present their latest collections in Sydney this April. The New Generation platform will give casper&pearl and the other designers an amazing opportunity to show their collection to a global industry. The other Australian labels include: House of Cannon, Mariam Seddiq, Misha Collection, POL and Vanessa Moe.
The Adelaide-based label’s latest collection stays true to their feminine aesthetic, boasting a girlish spin on what they’ve described as inspiration taken from the 1600s witch trial era and 90s witchcraft shows. What’s most impressive though is that Hendrickson has once again shown off her illustrating talents, hand painting some of her newest prints, which has resulted in some of the most popular pieces in this collection.
