DOLLY Model Search Hits Adelaide

Words by March 7, 2013

From shy tween cover girl to a Victoria’s Secret Angel; it happened to Miranda Kerr and if you’re between 13 and 18 years of age, it could happen to you.

The annual DOLLY Model Search hits Adelaide on Sun Mar 17 at Tea Tree Plaza, where hundreds of teens are expected to strut their stuff in the hope of being crowned 2013’s DOLLY Ambassador.

The winner of the model search will also score a fashion and cover shoot in DOLLY and make monthly appearances both in the magazine and on the website for a year. They will also snag a modelling contract with Chadwick Models and a trip to New York to meet with members Chadwick’s affiliates.

Entrants are expected to fill out a registration form outlining their hobbies, interests, dreams and aspirations, with the competition taking into account confidence, intelligence and charisma over typical physical ‘model’ attributes. Entrants are also encouraged to read and follow DOLLY’s Body Image Tip Sheet, before entering the competition. One the day judges DOLLY editor Tiffany Dunk, Westfield Westfield Stylist, Donny Galella and Managing Director of Chadwick Models, Martin Walsh will personally meet each entrant in the hope of discovering the IT girl.

Last year’s DOLLY Model Search caused a stir after 13-year-old Kirsty Thatcher was chosen as the winner, with critics arguing 13 is too young to be exposed to the modelling industry.
