Introducing: Nell The Label

Words by October 24, 2014

When it comes to fashion design these days, you need to have a unique creative vision, different from what is on the market and this local label promises just that.

Brainchild of Adelaide talent, Charlotte Stanforth, Nell’s aesthetic is simple and wearable but exudes quality and something different. With a visual arts background, Charlotte has incorporated her own hand-painted watercolours into many of her designs, printed them on luxurious silks and sewn them herself.

“I like to keep the designs simple but I love using good quality fabrics. I also prefer simplistic colours that work well together,” she says.

This is obvious in the combination of pastel pinks and blues that have been put together. But the standout of the collection has to be the blue and white cape that shows off the designer’s own ventures into photography. Breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand have been printed onto the piece, creating a collage of different yet complimenting patterns.

NZ also inspired the location for the shoot, which was actually a quarry right here in SA. Check out some of official photos that we got an exclusive look at. It’s a meeting of the Adelaide creative minds, featuring the gorgeous Iona MacLean of Meraki blog and photographer, Ryan Cantwell behind the lens.
