Director, podcaster and pop culture ranter extraordinaire Kevin Smith will return to Australia in September for a run of conversation-driven shows.
Taking time out from his work on the follow-up to 1995 slacker hit Mallrats, the Clerks and Zack And Miri Make A Porno director will bring along frequent offsider Jason Mewes to revisit off their long-running Jay and Silent Bob double act for An Evening with Kevin Smith: The Jersey Boys. Divided into two acts, the show will include Smith and Mewes’ Jay and Silent Bob Get Old format which has become one of the linchpins of Smith’s podcast empire. It’s the show’s second run of Australian appearances the pair toured the podcast to Australia in April 2011.
Smith will then spend the evening waxing lyrical with fans in one of his notorious Q&A sessions. With some of his previous sessions spawning such viral anecdotes as his batshit crazy experience of writing toy-friendly polar bears into his script for a 90s Superman reboot to bursting into the tears when stepping onto the Millennium Falcon set of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this will definitely be bursting with guffaw-inducing and occasionally touching industry insights.
