Young Guns Comp Winners

Words by October 17, 2014

Last Monday night saw a gathering of South Australia’s most awarded hairstylists on stage at the National Wine Centre in our state’s largest hair showcase.

Sponsored by Evo Hair and Cloud Nine and organised by The Parlour Academy’s creative director, Robert Bava, the objective of the night was to show that hairdressing is a serious career option, not just one reserved for the uneducated. What better way to do so than gather the best in Adelaide’s hair professionals and show off their passion for the art?

With iconic names like Boris The Cuttery, Kinky Curly Straight, Blow It’s A Hair Thing, Parlour Hair and various other Adelaide hairdressing institutions, guests were in for a treat. Not to mention the special guest on the night: the talented Jules Tognini from AKA Togninis, who collaborated with the other hairstylists.

It was a night of Adelaide’s leading stylists showing off their latest looks as well as watching the young guns they’ve mentored being given a chance to present their creative vision on stage.

Overall, it was a reminder that every career path has its merits and especially in hairdressing, where we place all our trust in our stylist, we want someone who is passionate about the cause.
