Winter Coat Guided Bike Tour will pedal the winter blues away

Words by Staff Writer June 3, 2016

We get it, it can be hard to get moving in winter. Those clouds look ominous, puddles look dangerously splashy and those merry summer memories of sailing between Adelaide Fringe shows on your bike like Julie Andrews seem a world away.

Meanwhile your bike sits gathering rust as you keep telling yourself “tomorrow, is definitely the day I’ll start riding again”. Which is a real shame, because the merits of winter riding are many:

You’ll be warm and alert when you arrive at uni or work (instead of cold and grumpy)

You’ll avoid catching the dreaded winter public transport cold

Well, your mates at the City of Adelaide want you to know that with the right choice of coat and a little guidance, there’s no reason riding your bike around Adelaide in winter can’t be every bit as rewarding as a summer pedal.

So to help get you into the winter riding spirit, they’re throwing a guided Winter Coat Guided Bike Ride this Sunday June 5 to get you back into the saddle this season. Starting and finishing at The Joinery on Franklin Street, the tour will weave through laneways, bike lanes and hidden treasures of the CBD over two hours.

Head here to find out more information and register your spot.
