Alex Williamson ‘Open Up’
4 4Alex Williamson aka ‘shooter’ knows how to cross the line, if not jump all over it.
With a crude sense of humour and unquestionably sick mind, his set ought to come with its own classification warning. With those typical taboo topics covered in detail with content mainly based on sex, paedophilia, rape, and heavy drug themes. Delivered sometimes with considered crafty wit, and sometimes bluntly. His show is not for the faint hearted!
Balancing his confident stage presence with his lacklustre, I’m your more-average-than-average demeanour; the audience is won over with his slightly bogan yet insightful take on both his own shortcomings as a man without a sense of hindsight and comparisons of how he spends his days in contrast with his fathers medical career. His observations, as crude as they are, will get you laughing.
If your a cult follower he is a must see performance, if you like him, you’ll definitely enjoy his gig. But if the YouTube sensations videos don’t tickle you, then you might want to miss this one!
A highlight includes his satirical cover of a well known song, which he performs beautifully and surprisingly – juxtaposing from the songs undertone hilariously as well as showcasing more of his talent.
Alex Williamson ‘Open Up’ finishes this Sunday, February 28, at the Arkaba.
