Former Adelaide producer scores Grammys nod

Words by James McCann February 17, 2016

Amidst all the headline grabbing performances of yesterday’s Grammys, one detail almost passed us by: an Adelaide-raised musician and producer by the name of Henry Seeley scored an impressive win.

Seeley cut his teeth with Adelaide’s Paradise Community Church and their Planetshakers group (you know, super peppy Christian rock phenomenon that gave birth to Guy Sebastian) before moving away to Melbourne and then Nashville.

Yesterday, that path led to him hopping up onstage to accept a Grammy for his work mixing Best Gospel Album winner Covered: Alive in Asia by Israel & New Breed. A singer/songwriter, Seely’s work writing and producing church tracks in Adelaide has seen him act a mixer and producer for other artists all around the world.

It’s too early to predict what will take home best gospel album next year, but it’s safe to say there’s one guy who already thinks he should win it:

Seely (left) posted to Instagram that the experience was ‘amazing’, as well as his accepting the award. Doesn’t he look excited!
