Hear Kanye’s surprise new single ‘Saint Pablo’

Words by James McCann April 1, 2016

A surprise new track from Kanye West has hit the internet, possibly off of his upcoming album TURBOGRAFX 16. It comes hot on the heels of the release of his last album, The Life of Pablo, which came out rather recently, and from which we don’t even yet have a music video.

The new track, Saint Pablo, samples Jay-Z‘s Where I’m From?, and features some illumination of why Kanye decided to release his last album, The Life of Pablo, exclusively on Hov’s Tidal streaming service. It features some soon to be classic lines about money, family, and twitter feuds.

Also, maybe because he really believes it, but maybe just because it wouldn’t be a proper Kanye track unless there was something for folks to write furious opinion pieces about, there’s a line about ‘the Jews’ and how they’re apparently great with financial advice. Gracious.

Saint Pablo wasn’t released from Kanye’s official soundcloud account, but instead from a little followed account named tege. No word yet on whether this is a release or a leak, but it is without question one of the most melodic, raw Kanye tracks we’ve ever heard. At one point, he sounds like he may actually be crying.
