Urtekk Pareidolia single launch
Ed Castle, 9pm
Live-electronic four piece Urtekk are set to complete their “DM3 Project” trilogy of releases with new single Pareidolia. Fresh from Alice Springs desert music festival Wide Open Space last week, this is a good opportunity to catch their new track and see if they’ve managed to get all the dust and sand out of their equipment.

Luke Louie Trio EP launch
Pirie & Co. Social Club, 9pm
Guitarist Luke “Louie” Ciaramella cut his teeth with outfits like The London Road Poets and The Belle-Phonics, and now he’s out winning hearts with his own music. With a relaxed blues vibe with plenty of garage rock overtones, this might be your best opportunity to catch the trio before their frontman relocates to the big smoke of London.

Tall Enough To See single launch
Ed Castle, 9pm
A new name around the Adelaide scene, these country chums have made their way to the big smoke of Adelaide to launch their new EP with a 90s themed party. Surely the least you can do is throw on your grungiest flanny, get yourself a Nick Carter undercut and head along?
The ReadyMades EP launch
Grace Emily Hotel, 9.30pm
Adelaide trio The ReadyMades have a sound that veers somewhere between rock and folk, but they’ve an irreverent attitude that’s could almost be a bit punk if it weren’t so polite. Heck, not only does their new EP even has the edgy yet self-censored title of All F-ed Up, but it carries the mum-friendly disclaimer to “watch out for track number three as it does contain some swears”. The perfect pre-Mother’s Day gig.
Relying On Luck Wasted Time EP launch
The Exeter Beer Garden, 5pm
With a distortion-heavy sound and the angsty, Breaking Bad inspired lyrics to scream along to, Relying On Luck’s latest EP launch promises to be one of the more punky and abrasive mid-afternoon shows you’ll stumble upon this weekend.

Sunday May 10
Let There Be Folk 4
Grace Emily
This regular showcase of the quieter side of Adelaide returns for another week, with sets from Ry Kemp, Compass and Adie Haines and rare solo sets from members of Young Offenders and The Motive.
Pink Noise Generator (acoustic)
The Hotel Metro, 3pm
What’s more wholesome than a Mother’s Day afternoon gig at a pleasantly warm pub with bunch of Adelaide funksters stripping it back for an acoustic set? Nothing. That’s right, kittens, mittens, Pixar films and Josh Pyke will have to settle for second.
But don’t forget, this is only a slice of what’s happening around SA this weekend – head to our gig guide for a comprehensive round up.
