Influential punk greats The Buzzcocks have confirmed a handful of new Australian shows to fill out the band’s upcoming Australian jaunt. Last week they were confirmed as headliners for Golden Plains alongisde Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Sleater-Kinney and Violent Femmes.
Currently celebrating their 40th birthday, the band will perform six Australian dates with a brief New Zealand diversion in between, with the second Australian leg kicking off in Adelaide on Tuesday, March 22. It’ll be their first Australian tour since their ninth studio album The Waycame out last year.
Having cut some truly timeless tracks from early punk gems Boredom to later crossover hits like What Do I Get and Ever Fallen In Love, it promises to be a night full of razor sharp riffs and hooks. This iteration of The Buzzcocks will once again feature founding members Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle along with rhythm section Chris Remmington and Danny Farrant, who have played with the band since 2008 and 2006 respectively.
