Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have extended their upcoming Australian trip for Byron Bay Bluesfest to include a series of dates including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.
The former Oasis guitarist and penner of many a timeless boozy anthem released his second High Flying Birds LP Chasing Yesterday (is that a knowing reference to his Beatlesque songwriting?) back in March, and will be bringing the band – which includes members of The Zutons and The Lemon Trees – along with him.
With Oasis’ defining album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory celebrating its 20th anniversary this month there’s never been a better time to not look back in anger, so you can probably expect Gallagher to mix up the new material with some of his many rock solid Britpop classicsChampagne Supernova and Don’t Look Back In Anger.
And gee, I don’t know, maybe that other one.
Gallagher is the latest Bluesfest act to unveil sideshows, with Beach Boys’ creative mastermindBrian Wilson also set to hit Adelaide next year to perform his iconic 1966 work Pet Sounds live.
He’ll play Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, March 2016, tickets available via Live Nation.
