Australian punk pioneers Radio Birdman have announced dates for what looks to be their only national tour of 2016.

Influenced by the likes of The Stooges and The MC5, since forming in 1974 Radio Birdman were instrumental in the development of Sydney’s 1970s punk scene, which blossomed in parallel to similar movements in America and the UK.

The band cut two classic albums before dissolving in 1978. They’ve since sporadically reformed, releasing a new album Zeno Beach in 2006 with the some help from You Am I’s Russell Hopkinson on the drums.

Now fresh from a European tour the band are heading back on the road in their home country, playing a five date run that takes in Adelaide on Sunday, June 12. Tickets on sale from Monday, February 1 via OzTix.
