Tyler, The Creator now a playable Tony Hawk Pro Skater character

Words by Walter Marsh December 1, 2015

For a certain generation of time-rich teenagers, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was an important cultural touchstone in a way actual pro skating could barely touch, what with the physical coordination and resilient knees required. Rodney Mullen, Elissa Steamer, Steve Caballero. All names I have never encountered before or since, and yet inexplicably remain at the tip of my tongue in a way 1080 Snowboarding or Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX never quite managed.

While past games have included Easter Eggs like a playable Spider-Man or Lil Wayne, as IGN reports a new patch to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 for PlayStation 4 has among new levels and adjustments to gameplay introduced two new characters in the form of controversial rapper Tyler, The Creator and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The update also featres new levels including Underground and Wild West, which fortuitously are locations the real life Tyler, The Creator has not been banned from.

Watch a video of a pixellated version of the rapper land some sick nollies and pop shove its below:
